San Francisco Hackathon & Party

The Brief
Owkin, the AI-driven biotech company building an autonomous AI scientist to accelerate drug discovery, asked Purity to take over San Francisco for two days, for two completely different crowds.
First: a fundraising event at The Battery for 150 VCs, built around fireside chats and branded merchandise. Then, the very next day, flip the script entirely with a 36-hour, non-stop hackathon at Trellis for 75 coders.
The Activation
Two audiences. Two briefs. One takeover.
For the VC evening at The Battery, Purity found the venue, arranged the catering and designed and printed bespoke merchandise to match the fireside-chat format, creating a room built for conversation and connection.
Then the takeover changed gears. At Trellis, the following day, Purity sourced the venue and kept catering running around the clock to fuel 75 coders through a full 36 hours of non-stop building.
Same city, same week, two entirely different experiences, each shaped around the audience in the room.
Results
150 VCs hosted at The Battery for an evening of networking
75 coders powered through a 36-hour hackathon at Trellis
Bespoke merchandise & branding designed for the takeover
Great turnout across both events
Why It Worked
A VC fundraiser and a round-the-clock hackathon could easily have felt like two unrelated events squeezed into one trip. Instead, Purity treated them as two chapters of the same story for Owkin, matching venue, catering and branding to each audience so both landed exactly as intended. It’s proof that one takeover can flex to serve investors and coders back to back, without losing quality on the ground for either.
