Route Launch in Paris
Air Astana is the award-winning national airline carrier for Kazakhstan. It operates scheduled domestic and international services on 64 routes from Almaty International Airport. Air Astana celebrated success earlier in the 2015 Skytrax World Airline Awards, with Best Airline Central Asia / India awarded for the fourth successive year and Best Airline Staff Service Central Asia/India for the third year.
Following a period of expansion to new routes including Bangkok, Seoul, and Tbilisi, Air Astana briefed Purity to work alongside PR agency Emerald Media to produce an event that celebrated direct flights from Kazakhstan to France. Also involved in the project were Agence Evolve from Paris.
Purity sourced and booked the prestigious Intercontinental Le Grand Hotel in Paris, the venue for the event. Having previously produced a similar function for Air Astana at the Mandarin Oriental, Knightsbridge, London, Purity were familiar with the client requirements.
The format of the event included a press conference for aviation and business press journalists followed by a series of one-to-one interviews with CEO and President Peter Foster. The main focus of the event was a function for 250 guests in the venue’s Salon Opera. Guests enjoyed a champagne reception on arrival with an event packed with entertainment. The evening event continued with recitals by leading violinist, Zhamilya Serkebayeva and classical and modern ballet performances as well as a fashion show presented by Kazakhstan designer, Aya Bapani.
Both the French and Kazakhstan ambassadors attended the event together with journalists and members of the aviation and airline world. Culture, fashion and the arts were also represented by the Louvre, Dior, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.
