Until recently the term ‘social distancing’ would not have been a phrase any of us had heard of let alone be practicing. However, today it’s something we are all well aware of and abiding by to ensure we slow down the spread of Covid-19. At this unpredictable time, most of us will be looking ahead and making provisions to ensure we safely stay connected with friends and family while practicing social distancing.
Fortunately, staying virtually connected is easier than it ever was before thanks to technology.
Here are some of our favourite apps on the market which allow you to stay connected and have some fun at the same time:
A free app on iOS and Android devices, House Party allows up to 8 people to connect in the virtual party where you can chat and play games. Our favourite is Quick Draw – a virtual Pictionary which is totally addictive.
Netflix calls this a new way to watch shows with your friends online. The service is available on Chrome browsers and allows you to link up with users to host virtual movie nights. Grab the popcorn!
Skype allows us to stay in touch with friends and family for free with calls, messaging and videos for both domestic and international calls.
The world’s first AI DJ, Rave connects iOS and Android users to people around the world all coming together to create perfectly synchronised videos and ‘mashups’ from selected songs. Join in with friends and family or start a public rave and make new friends from another country.
We couldn’t leave Tik Tok off the list as it’s fast becoming the video app of choice for all ages with parents now seen to be getting involved in the action with their children. The app can be downloaded on iOS and Android and is a great way of showing off dance moves, life hacks, fails and more. A great way to get absorbed into a funny world of videos and forget about the world for a moment or two.
